If you’re thinking about transitioning manufacturing operations to Mexico, you may be interested in touring the plant before making your decision. As a top-tier contract manufacturing partner located near the border, we encourage our clients to tour our facilities and experience our highly-skilled team in action. If you’d like to plan a trip to Mexico to evaluate a manufacturing plant, we can provide tips for stress-free traveling. Here’s an overview of what you need to know before traveling to Mexico now that COVID-19 guidelines have been loosened:

Proof of Negative Test Is Not Required

If it’s been a while since you’ve traveled, you may still be operating under the assumption that a negative COVID-19 test is required upon entrance to another country. While a recent negative test result may be required for entry into certain countries, U.S. citizens (and visitors from any other country) arriving in Mexico do not need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Vaccination against COVID-19 is also not a requirement.

The Vuela Seguro Form Has Been Suspended

In the early days of the pandemic, Mexico required a health questionnaire called the Vuela Seguro to be submitted by all passengers on domestic or international flights. This health questionnaire was suspended in early 2022, when Mexico joined El Salvador as one of the first countries to drop all COVID-19 related health requirements for travelers.

Visitors Traveling By Land May Need to Consent to Health Screening

If you’re traveling to Mexico by land, you may be asked to participate in a health screening. A health screening is simple, and consists of a temperature check and a few questions regarding possible symptoms and exposure. Please note, not all visitors traveling by land will be asked to participate in a health screening, but it is a possibility to be aware of.
